| Paton, Iowa will soon be known as the home of the world's largest corn and soybean planter manufacturer. John Deere Corporation has secured a contract with Bauer Built Corporation t build a series of DB44, 58, 60, 66, 80 and 90 foot corn and soybean planters.
Vaughn Bauer, President of Bauer Built Manufacturing has worked on a concept and design of a mega planter for several years. In 2002 John Deere and Bauer Built Mfg. formed a partnership to build planters together, known as the DB Planter Series. Bauer Built Mfg. builds the bar portion of the planter, the balance of the equipment coming from John Deere.
